Menus

One of our most popular menu items is Frogmore stew. It gets its name from the fishing village of Frogmore, SC. This is a shrimp boat from Frogmore, proof that Frogmore exists. Most people shrink at the thought of frogs being in a stew even though there are none in the recipe. We used to kid them and say that we used tadpoles...no bones! Frogmore stew originated in the 60's at the Gay Seafood Company in Frogmore, SC, a small fishing village just outside of Beaufort, SC. This is where "The Prince of Tides" and "Forrest Gump" were filmed. The original recipe was given to me by Lee Atwater, Republican strategist and President GW Bush's campaign manager in 1989. I was just starting this catering business. It is a simple recipe consisting of shrimp, sausage, corn-on-the-cob,little red potatoes and onion in a spicy seafood boil.

You can see why Frogmore Stew is so popular. It contains shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes and onions and enough spice to make you want more. It's a much thriftier way to serve your guests shrimp as opposed to a shrimp cocktail for example.

Another popular menu item is our dry-rubbed baby-back ribs. The rub we use is very similar to that used at Charlie Vergo's world famous Rondevouz Restaurant in Memphis, TN. The ribs pair very nicely with our marinated and grilled boneless chicken breasts.
